When the property owner discovered Java the Boxer in a recently vacated rental property, she was heavily pregnant and in poor condition. The previous family was unhelpful when contacted about the dog. Due to Java’s starvation, dehydration, and illness, the property owner contacted a nearby rescue for assistance.
Java attempted to join the rescue, however, it was already at maximum capacity and there was no space available for her. Later, at the vet’s office, it became apparent that Java was expecting puppies. However, due to her high level of stress, she was not able to give birth at that moment.
As the sickly Java desperately prayed for a miracle, a woman named Karen from “Lost Pet Found Pet” heard about her. With the help of her connections, Karen helped Java find boarding at Nob Hill Animal Clinic in Plantation in the middle of the night!
After seeing a roof over her head and caretakers around her, Java finally felt secure. Just a few hours later, she gave birth to a litter of 9 puppies! Later in the day, the mama and her puppies were transferred to the care of “Florida Boxer Rescue”.
Java had various infections, intestinal parasites, and fleas due to neglect from her previous owners. She received treatment for these over the next few months. Despite this, she lovingly raised her puppies and they were all adopted into great homes when they were old enough. Java, along with her babies, has been adopted by a loving family and is now enjoying her best life!
